The product compared is Supply2Defence (supply2defencetenders.com) , UK and Ireland tender alert service for defence, security and blue light buyers, run by BiP Solutions.
Bid / no-bid support belongs to Stage B when enabled; your team keeps the decision.
Our verdict · For a defence, security or industrial supplier bidding for public tenders
Viglia fits if your buyers publish across several countries or with NATO and UN agencies (more than 200 official sources in more than 60 countries, UK national and devolved portals included) and you want each lot qualified against your catalogue, with cited document analysis and a reasoned bid / no-bid. Supply2Defence keeps the edge for MOD notices from its own defence feed and for UK blue light and Irish alerts gathered from over 3,000 sources.
Choose Viglia if
- your buyers publish on Find a Tender, BOAMP, TED, SAM.gov, NSPA or NCIA, or in several countries at once;
- keyword and CPV alerts bring too many off-target notices for your technical products;
- you want requirements extracted from tender documents with citations, scanned files included, and a reasoned bid / no-bid recommendation.
Keep Supply2Defence if
- you need MOD notices from the Defence Sourcing Portal and UK police, fire, ambulance or coastguard alerts gathered from over 3,000 sources in one service;
- you want to start at no cost: registration gives free MOD and blue light alerts, and paid UK packages are published from £445 on an annual contract.

What Viglia does with a notice, step by step
For activated sources and accessible documents, Viglia relates requirements to your catalogue and links findings to the source document, including the passage when identified. Stage B supplies bid / no-bid support when separately enabled. The fictional example below illustrates the method, not an observed product execution.

Supply2Defence and Viglia compared
The Supply2Defence column only restates what the vendor publishes, or an absence bounded to the pages we read. The Viglia column describes the current commercial scope: Stage A by default and Stage B separately enabled when granted; roadmap items are never presented as available.
| Criterion | Supply2Defence · public evidence | Viglia · current scope | What to check before deciding |
|---|---|---|---|
| Geographic scope | UK and Republic of Ireland data coverage for defence, security and blue light tenders. Supply2Defence home page | Worldwide monitoring: more than 200 official sources in more than 60 countries, across six continents. In the UK and Ireland: Find a Tender, Contracts Finder, Public Contracts Scotland, Sell2Wales, eTendersNI, EU-Supply (including Bluelight and YORtender), ProContract and eTenders Ireland; elsewhere BOAMP, TED, SAM.gov, CanadaBuys, NSPA, NCIA and UNGM. MOD Defence Contracts Online is not a Viglia source. | Start from where your buyers publish. If they are mostly MOD buyers on the Defence Sourcing Portal, Supply2Defence reads that feed; if they span UK national portals, other countries or NATO agencies, test Viglia on the same notices. |
| Emergency services and civil security | Free access to all UK blue light tender opportunities and awards: police, fire, ambulance, coastguard and rescue. Blue light tenders | Civil security and fire and rescue are among Viglia's specialisms, alongside defence; in the UK, Viglia reads the EU-Supply Bluelight portal used by emergency services, alongside the national and devolved portals. | If you sell to fire and rescue services, list the portals each of your buyers uses and check which tool reads each one. |
| How relevance is set | A profile is matched to the database, matches appear in a dashboard and daily alerts follow the master profile criteria. Supply2Defence home page | Product-catalogue filtering with an explained score per lot and a daily review shortlist, with one profile, score and set of decisions per brand when you run several. | Compare the alerts of one week against your catalogue and count how many you would actually read. |
| Document analysis and bid decision | The terms describe daily email alerts, an online portal to tailor the alert profile, procurement tools and resources, events information and news; no document analysis or scoring was found on the public pages examined. Supply2Defence terms | Tender-document analysis with cited requirements, dates and clauses, an exportable compliance matrix and a reasoned bid / no-bid recommendation; the decision stays with your team. | If you mainly need to see notices, alerts are enough. If you need help deciding which to answer, test that step explicitly. |
| Pricing | Free registration for MOD and blue light notices; annual-contract packages shown at £600 (all content, single country), £445 (all content UK, listed against £799) and £545 (UK & ROI, listed against £899). Supply2Defence home page | Pricing on request, depending on the operated scope. | For MOD and blue light alerts alone, the free tier is a sensible first step. Compare paid options on the time saved, not only the fee. |
UK defence alerts and multi-country qualification answer different needs
Supply2Defence describes itself as a single source for security and defence tenders in the UK, with daily alerts based on a master profile.
Viglia reads more than 200 official sources in more than 60 countries, UK national and devolved portals included, as well as BOAMP, TED, SAM.gov and the NATO and UN agencies, and qualifies what it finds against your catalogue. The MOD's Defence Contracts Online portal is not one of its sources.
List the buyers you sold to or bid for in the last three years and note where each one published. The list usually decides the tool.
Beyond MOD notices: civil and wider public sector
Supply2Defence states that paid plans give access to civil opportunities throughout the UK and Ireland, beyond MOD and blue light notices.
It also states that all contracts appearing in the MOD's Defence Sourcing Portal appear in Supply2Defence as part of its wider defence offering.
Viglia also extends beyond defence to industry, construction, energy, transport, digital, services, health, agriculture and humanitarian tenders, within the agreed sources.
Ask each vendor which buyer types are included in your plan and which require an upgrade, then test on notices you already know.
From an alert to a decision to bid
Its 'opportunities ending' feature lists, from your saved searches, the opportunities closing in the next four weeks, and opportunities can be shared with colleagues.
Viglia runs a daily review, tracks deadlines in a team pipeline and attaches a reasoned bid / no-bid recommendation to each retained lot; the decision and the writing of the response stay with your team.
Time how long a notice takes to go from alert to a go or no-go decision, and who reads the tender documents in between.
Supply2Defence and DCI belong to the same group
Supply2Defence's parent company is BiP Solutions, which also runs Defence Contracts International (DCI), PASS Procurement and Defence Online, according to its parent company page.
Its terms identify BiP Solutions Limited as the contracting party and Scottish law as the governing law.
Viglia sets up the agreed sources with you, among more than 200 official sources in more than 60 countries (including Find a Tender, Contracts Finder, TED, BOAMP, SAM.gov, NSPA, NCIA and UNGM), and monitors their health and completeness.
If you already use another BiP service, check whether the data overlaps before adding a second subscription.
Read the subscription terms before upgrading
The terms state that an annual subscription paid monthly by card runs for twelve months and cannot be cancelled during that term, and that advertised prices exclude VAT.
Viglia's pricing depends on the operated scope and is agreed on request; a demonstration can be requested.
Whatever the tool, agree in writing the sources, the users and the renewal conditions before the first payment.
Limits, reading date and corrections

FAQ
Is Viglia a replacement for Supply2Defence?
Not for MOD notices from the Defence Sourcing Portal, which is not a Viglia source. Supply2Defence describes UK and Ireland alerts for defence, security and blue light notices. Viglia is an operated qualification service reading more than 200 official sources in more than 60 countries, including Find a Tender, Contracts Finder, the devolved UK portals, eTenders Ireland, BOAMP, TED, SAM.gov, NSPA, NCIA and UNGM.
When is Supply2Defence the better choice?
When your buyers are mainly the MOD and its Defence Sourcing Portal, or UK police, fire, ambulance or rescue services, and alerts gathered from over 3,000 sources are what you need. Its free registration lets you start without a contract.
We sell to fire and rescue services in France and the UK. What should we do?
List the portals your buyers use. Supply2Defence documents UK blue light coverage; Viglia specialises in civil security and fire and rescue and reads BOAMP and the French portals as well as Find a Tender, Contracts Finder, the devolved UK portals and EU-Supply Bluelight. Test each on known notices from both markets.
How should we compare the two?
Fix a catalogue extract, a list of mandatory buyers and a set of known notices. Compare what each option finds, the share of irrelevant alerts and the time a person spends deciding what to answer.
