The product compared is GovTribe (govtribe.com) , US government-contracting intelligence platform backed by GovExec, with federal, state and local data, an AI assistant, an MCP server and capture tools.
Bid / no-bid support belongs to Stage B when enabled; your team keeps the decision.
Our verdict · For a defence, security or industrial supplier bidding on public tenders worldwide
Viglia suits suppliers who want one qualified queue across many countries, SAM.gov included, with each lot matched against their catalogue. GovTribe keeps the edge on depth of US data: state and local buyers, forecasts, award history and capture tools.
Choose Viglia if
- your buyers are spread across several countries and you want SAM.gov, TED, BOAMP, the NSPA, the NCIA, UNGM and other official sources in one queue;
- you want each lot matched against your products and capabilities, not only a saved search;
- you need tender documents analysed with every requirement cited, including scanned and non-English files;
- you want the screening set up with you and a reasoned bid / no-bid recommendation in a daily review.
Keep GovTribe if
- You need depth on US government data beyond federal opportunities: GovTribe brings state and local buyers, FPDS and USAspending award data, forecasts and Major Defense Acquisition Program profiles into one place.
- You want a published self-service price: GovTribe lists plans from $1,500 a year for federal data, with a seven-day free trial.

What Viglia does with a notice, step by step
For activated sources and accessible documents, Viglia relates requirements to your catalogue and links findings to the source document, including the passage when identified. Stage B supplies bid / no-bid support when separately enabled. The fictional example below illustrates the method, not an observed product execution.

GovTribe and Viglia compared
The GovTribe column only restates what the vendor publishes, or an absence bounded to the pages we read. The Viglia column describes the current commercial scope: Stage A by default and Stage B separately enabled when granted; roadmap items are never presented as available.
| Criterion | GovTribe · public evidence | Viglia · current scope | What to check before deciding |

GovTribe’s strength is depth on US government data
Its federal contractors page displays counts in the millions for federal contract opportunities, awards, IDVs and potential teaming partners, and says GovTribe fuses public data with exclusive signals.
Viglia’s depth is in breadth and qualification: more than 200 official sources in more than 60 countries, SAM.gov included, each lot matched against your catalogue; it does not hold US award histories or every state and local portal.
Volume figures describe a database, not the share of it that fits your products. Measure how many notices from a month of real work you would actually bid on.
An AI assistant you prompt, or a review run for you
GovTribe’s home page describes an AI-powered govcon assistant and an MCP server that connects GovTribe to ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot and custom AI tools.
Viglia delivers a daily review and an explained shortlist; the bid / no-bid score is a reasoned recommendation, and the decision stays with your team.
An assistant is as good as the questions asked. Note who in your team will write those prompts, and how answers will be checked against the source notice.
Forecasts and upcoming tenders
GovTribe Forecasts gives early access to upcoming federal contract opportunities and is listed on the Growth and Scale plans.
Viglia flags upcoming tenders before publication with their basis and a confidence level, and follows framework agreements and renewals.
Compare forecasts with what was finally published over a past quarter; the basis and the hit rate matter more than the number of forecasts.
Suppliers selling in several countries
GovTribe’s plans page says it has been trusted by clients since 2012, and its ‘Plus’ plans list federal, state and local data.
Viglia covers public and institutional tenders in more than 60 countries, from SAM.gov, CanadaBuys and several US state portals to TED, BOAMP, NATO agencies and UNGM, with one profile, score and set of decisions per brand if you sell under several.
If you sell in several markets, map each source you depend on to one tool, give each market an owner, and keep a single pipeline of record.

FAQ
Is Viglia a replacement for GovTribe?
It depends on how deep you need US data to go. Both cover US federal opportunities: Viglia reads SAM.gov, DARPA and four state portals within more than 200 official sources in more than 60 countries. GovTribe adds state and local buyers, award and spend data, forecasts, capture tools and an AI assistant. If that US depth drives your capture work, GovTribe remains the relevant option.
Does GovTribe cover European or NATO tenders?
We did not find European, NATO-agency or UN procurement on the GovTribe pages we examined. Ask GovTribe to confirm in writing if you need these sources.
Are GovTribe’s AI features included in the subscription?
According to its plans page, GovTribe AI and the GovTribe MCP server are usage-based and billed in credits in addition to the subscription, with prepaid credit packs and a pay-as-you-go rate.
How do I compare them fairly?
Fix a catalogue, the sources you cannot miss and a set of known notices, for example from SAM.gov, which both read. Then compare what is found, what is wrongly kept, how each reason can be checked and the reviewing time left to your team.
